Day 32. Palas del Rei – Arzua. The Quatro Amigos

so after what I can honestly say was one of the best hotel experiences we have had, where Pilar on reception was a gem. She made the whole thing. Just shows how important customer service is, irrespective of what you do! It was pitch black and we were heading out for the long haul to Arzua. Almost 30km today. We found breakfast and coffee about 5 km up the track and continued for what felt like an eon. In fact the whole day was very tough. Sore shins, hips, thighs and the knee didn’t help.

This is what the breakfast place looked like.

we past a statue which pointed the way in the mist…..

Then walked through a town called Casanova, so I just had to send a picture to Frank Casanova in the U.S. He appreciated the thought. Will see him in January after CES hopefully.

We continued to walk past corn dryers – everyone has one…..

We went into a very old Romanesque church in Melide…just beautifully restored.

Then after much up and down hills and finally up a long hill into Arzua, we had reached our destination….I called the Casa where we were staying for them to collect us….in my best broken Spanish I explained there were 4 of us….Quatro Amigos, which broke everyone up and we went out to a country farm house which was lovely. Dinner, drinks etc saw a decent nights sleep….

ready for the second last day……Andy and Sally meet us tomorrow fore last 2 days walk in….

almost there…..
