Day 30. Sarria – Portomarin. In the clouds and with the cows

Decent nights sleep and early breakfast saw us walk out of Sarria in the dark at 8am. We walked all morning in the mist and couldn’t see a thing in the near or far distance. It was so quiet and peaceful.

We walked across a roman bridge which should have been guarded by a knight but he must have gone to fix his flesh wound this morning.

They have these things in almost all the back gardens since we walked into Galicia….we think they are corn dryers but they may in fact be mausoleums!

We ran with the cows today. Pick which is which…….

Then we finally made Portomarin and had a team photo for Greg and Sharon’s first day on the steps up to the town after one enormous bridge crossing the widest river I have seen for yards around…..

Then the obligatory beer in the plaza major for good health followed by a cracking octopus dinner….
