Decent sleep in this morning and had a similar breakfast to yesterday. Went to look for a few provisions for the track. Poles, socks, a hat, poncho for Kate.
found them in 2 different places. Hat, socks and poncho in a fishing store and poles at Corte Ingless.
Went to check into San Morco Parador….
magnificent building. But the hotel was full. So no space in the dining room for dinner. Had room service instead. Treat.
Then went to the train station to meet Kate. Train arrived right on time. Walked back to the hotel. Unpacked. Thanks for your advice Jack, too late!
we walked into town in the afternoon. Found some lunch, met the other pilgrims I had been walking with in the first two weeks, Sue, Leo, Brenda, Liz and walked down to the Leon Museum. It’s a Monday so would you believe it was closed?
had a look at the cathedral and then back to the hotel.
here a couple of photos in the Parador.
A couple of pictures of the cathedral. The thing is quite twisted….
And this is St Andrew….quite a likeness….
This is Kate and I with the Pilgrim statue outside the hotel, it is meant to be lucky to pat him on his left shoulder to get to the end.
Looking back towards the city along the river….
Land finally the cathedral at night.
Just lovely stopover in Leon.
now for the final 12 days to Santiago……fingers crossed…
Great to see you 2 together. Enjoy the last 12 days together. We cannt wait to see younat Santiago
it’s good luck to pat him on the shoulder, But in your case it could be better luck to pat him on his knees! Glad to hear that Kate arrived safely & pleased you’ve had a few days rest. 12 days to go? Buen Camino Amigos! ?
So close now mate. Will have a beer for you at the end….
