Good day, slept ok and then went to meet Arnoldo at his hotel. Munched on roll, cheese and strawberry jam (not together…..der)
we set off and before we knew it was in Trajdos. Les Ingram a big city is so boring and very badly marked. But Burgos is one place I would like to get back to at some stage. The cathedral is utterly amazing like I said but it really stays with you. Very grande.
So just before I leave Burgos this is. A pano of the inside of the cloister…..
Ok so head out across the Meseta. It is a vast open plane. Today was incredibly windy. Right into our faces. Really hard going. For 6 hours.
there is a reason they have rows of wind farms up here.
We walked in Hornillos had a bite to eat. And then walked up to Casterjeriz.
This is Arnaldo and I walking into Casterjeriz. Windy, sunny and hot.
found he hotel. Checked in got some washing done and then out for dinner.
We met a Canadian guy, Mike in the street and he came for dinner too.
Pilgrim meal, salad, meat and ice cream for 9.5€. It was the local Hierbus, schnapps like drink after wine which tops it off.
So raining a bit tomorrow and will need to head off soon.
More to come….
