good nights sleep in a nunnery must be good for the soul. The room I stayed in was small but very functional. Private….
funny thing happened on the way out of breakfast in the nunnery, a lady overheard me taking about accommodation for last night and asked if I was Australian. I said from Melbourne and hey said so are we from Geelong. It twigged. I asked if one of the guys was Craig Warren. And hey we’re that group. He contacted me just before they left Australia. They are friends of Darren and Sur Maroney, who I used to work with. I said on text at the time they would probably pass me in Pamlona. Well almost right, it’s in Santo Domingo and we will end up walking into Burgos together. What are the chances. Quite high it seems.
Santo Domingo was a lovely little town. Has a large monestary and separate bell tower.
Met up with Donal the Irish guy again for dinner while he waited for his friends to arrive from Ireland. Walked around town. Re packed my bag again. Got it down now I think.
i took this picture yesterday…..this is quite a typical view at the moment.
Also you see these sign posts each km in Rioja, but nowhere else. Not sure it helps every km!
Also this was lunch yeasterday. And I picked up a little friend as well!
And I have to show you this. What tragic picture of a pilgrim. No fashion statement out here for me. Just all function…..
And I did actually take a photo of Ashley meditating in a rather prophetic spot. I sent it to her which she was very great full for and has sent on to her fam and friends. Pretty nice location to focus the mind.
Thanks for your comments everyone. It’s fun and hard and challenging and lonely at times. But it’s great to hear from you all.
With love.
