Woke to a wonderful breakfast for 3.5€ in the Albergue. Coffee, toast, hard boiled egg, strawberry jam, etc helped get a long day ahead ready.
Walked out pre-dawn at 7.15 am and was greeted with the long line of pilgrims on their way to their next destination. Mine was Logrono. Across country lanes and fields up to Sansol and then continue on up to Viana. A beautiful little medieval town just out of Logrono. Continued after some tapas and cervesa out of town to follow the track into town. Past gypsy families working on wineries and finally into Logrono.
28.8km today. And tomorrow will bring another 30km. Won’t help the blister I developed on my left foot. But the compeed should help.
I saw a few things today which Andy and Sally will appreciate. Yes Fennel Pollen aka road dust like you said….here it is.
Also a former shadow of myself! I think I might be slimming a bit…
And now I am in Rioja, so bye bye Navarra and hello wine district.
Sharon, you wanted a tip for the road. Well this lady is Australian and only wears thongs. Up and down hill, all the way. She seems very happy in them but I honestly don’t know how she does it. So the tip is wear walking boots…der.
Fianlly i I came across this lovely little church which was build by the Knights Templar many centuries ago. And is built in a sept angular form. Minimalist yet very sectarian.
time for tapas and Rioja for dinner.

Hey V, Funny, but a couple from Kilcunda are spending two weeks on the El Camino while you are there. Andrea and Chris Peck. Really nice peeps, he is the CEO of ANL (no a good acronym). She is red head with glasses, about our age and he is about 6′ with a pleasant face. I know its a long track.
Anyway, stay safe.
Sounds like you need to ditch the sneakers and get on the thong train! Solidarity is key on these adventures. As allways im really proud of you dad. Didnt know you could write like this. Currently in Queensland with sash wishing i was in rioja! Be safe and go easy on that knee. Excited to read your next post.
