Decent sleep last night. Almost 8 hours again. Nice. No snoring from anyone of the 5 people in the room. The Pilgrim meal was basic, salad, chicken stew and an ice cream. With a bottle of red wine of course…..10€
Headed out in the dark this morning at 7am. Made it very hard to find the markers which are always so prominent along the way. The first place I come across is the pilgrim wine fountain at Bodegas Irache. The fountain had already been drained by 7.30 but I suspect that the local kids go there regularly. It was Sunday morning and the locals were still out and about.
Here is the fountain.
Then walked over a mountain and down though vineyards, fields of fennel and finally got chased by a marauding flock of sheep. Being lead by the shepherd….looking for the star in the field?
Glorious days walk. Sunny, no real wind so speak of and a few people on the road.
Lovely. Good for the soul.
